Food For Thought: We are all beautiful from the inside out in so many different ways. 3 Layered Protein Smoothie Bowl is for the beautiful beauty deep within. I honestly made this smoothie bowl with my wonderful children in mind. They are so bright and full of life from every angle. Oh how, I wish they could stay young forever! 🙂 Nonetheless this smoothie bowl is great for relaxation and is a good way to connect with your inner self.

Protein Layer

Why add protein you ask? The Banana Smoothie Protein Layer is all about that inner strength! I do enjoy using protein powder on days that I knowingly do not get enough protein. I have fallen short of eating enough nuts, legumes, lentils and lean meat. Although, I am not 100% committed to a vegan lifestyle, I do strive to eat/live a healthy lifestyle. My family and I truly enjoy a lot of plant based food and since I did not use any green leafy vegetables in this smoothie bowl, I opted in for a scoop of protein. 🙂

Toppings

Just look at that picture!!! It is so beautiful!:) It reminds me of organized chaos in a simplistic kind of way. Gosh I feel, like I am in Art 101 again …. LOL ! However, this smoothie bowl is so awesome because not only do you get 3 layers of sweet fruity madness but you also get the top layer of your choice.

I choose granola which had raisins and nuts in it. You may not have granola on hand so, go for some fresh fruit, Chia seeds, coconut or any toppings that you have on hand. My son actually ate his plain with no toppings while my daughter wanted hers to have shredded chocolate on it! Toppings are really your choice so enjoy it any way you like!! 🙂

Instructions
Strawberry Layer
  1. Add all of the Strawberry ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy. Pour Strawberry Mixture out into a bowl and set aside in the freezer, until ready to mix.
Banana Layer
  1. Rinse the blender out and add all of the Banana ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy. Pour Banana Mixture out into a bowl and set aside in the freezer, until ready to mix.
Blueberry Layer
  1. Rinse the blender out again and add all of the Blueberry ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy. Set aside and grab the banana and strawberry mixture.
Layer All 3 Flavors
  1. In your favorite bowl, add about 2/3 cup of the strawberry mixture, and then add another 2/3 banana mixture on top of the strawberry mixture. Finally add about 1/4 of a cup the blueberry mixture in the center of the bowl.
Toppings
  1. Add your desired toppings and enjoy! I used granola and chia seeds!
